Sinkhole (2021)

Sinkhole is an absurdist graphic novel that explores ideas of paranoia, conspiracy, and the British upper class horse racing industry. It aims to position ideas of truth and reality in an immigrant context, centring those who have historically been lied to by governing power in order to explore the proliferation of scepticism, multiple truths, and the dissolution of reality. By centring the realities of those whose narratives are usually marginalised, Sinkhole challenges which experiences are traditionally granted legitimacy as valid sites of knowledge production. Asking: maybe we can learn more from two bona fide slackers than we can from news presenters or think-tank bros? Inspired by 90’s DIY queer zine culture in particular, this project pays homage to the historical legacy of comics for their amplification of subjugated narratives.
